Leeds United are reportedly considering replacing manager Jesse Marsch just days before they are due to travel to Brentford.

The American manager has been in charge at Elland Road since March last year when he was named as successor to Marcelo Bielsa. He helped the Whites preserve their Premier League status with a 2-1 win at the Gtech Community Stadium on the final day of the season as Jack Harrison’s late goal condemned Burnley to life in the Championship.

The momentum gained by their successful battle against the drop continued into the current season as Marsch’s side seven points from their opening three Premier League fixtures against Wolves, Southampton and Chelsea and progressed in the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 home win against Barnsley. However, inconsistency has hampered Leeds’ performances over the last four months and they are sat just two points and four places above the relegation zone as they prepare to face the Bees.

However, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has now claimed Marsch’s future is in doubt and has suggested ‘a short list of several names’ to replace the American has been drawn up. That news has been backed up by claims from MOT Leeds News stating a number of senior players have ‘told the board’ they want the American to be replaced.

Aouna has also revealed that ‘no decision’ has been made over Marsch’s future but a move to part company with the former RB Leipzig manager is being considered.
