In a tweet sent by the official FPL twitter account, they confirmed that the popular fantasy football game would be back this month.

With arguably the biggest and busiest transfer period in June, there’s a whole new plethora of players to choose from this year.

What is FPL?

In short, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is a fantasy league, where you can pit your wits against everyone who plays, or in turn make your own mini league with friends and loved ones.

You must pick a squad of 15 players from the 2022/2023 Premier League, who score points for your team based on their performances for their clubs in PL matches.

The formation is largely up to you. However, it is common for people to deploy three defenders, four midfielders and then three strikes to maximise points.

The budget for your squad is 100 million, and you must choose your options wisely to assemble the 15 man squad for that budget.

You can also pick a captain, and if your captain scores, assists or keeps a clean sheet they will be awarded more points than if they were a normal player in your team.

At times through the season you can also use the ‘triple captain’ option, which triples the score of your captain for one or two games maximum, depending on when you activate the option.

After every game week, you’re also allowed a maximum of one free transfer. You can make more transfers if needed, but you will be docked four points off of your overall score for the season, which could prove costly.

A time where you can use free transfers whenever you wish for a week without incurring a point loss is when you activate your wildcard, which is only available pre and post Christmas.

What are the Brentford prices for the 2022/2023 season?

Ivan Toney - £7 million

David Raya - £4.5 million

Sergi Canos - £5 million

Bryan Mbeumo - £6 million

Yoane Wissa - £5.5 million

Christian Norgaard - £5.5 million

Vitaly Janelt - £5.5 million

Ethan Pinnock - £4.5 million

Pontus Jannock - £4.5 million

Rico Henry - £4.5 million

Kristoffer Ajer - £4.5 million

There are some cheap bargains in there, which will be helpful either in your team or if you’re looking for a cheap gem for the bench.

From a first glance, David Raya looks like a great bench option for your goalkeeper. The Spaniard is Brentford’s number one, doesn’t concede boatloads and is overall a solid ‘keeper.

When is FPL out for the new season?

Unfortunately the date for FPL is not yet confirmed, we just know that it is coming out in July at some point, and then full prices for every Premier League player will be available.
