Brentford boss Thomas Frank says his side are ‘up for the challenge’ this weekend as they prepare to face Newcastle United.

The Bees head to the North East on the back of their 0-0 draw last time out away at AFC Bournemouth.

They are currently 10th in the Premier League table after a decent start to the new season.

The London club are only a point behind the Toon Army so would leapfrog them if they were to win at St. James’ Park.

‘Very strong’...

Brentford’s Frank has delivered his verdict on Newcastle pre-game press conference:

“There is no doubt that Newcastle are aiming to be a top six side in the future. Eddie Howe, his staff, and players have done a very good job so far. Last year, they stabilised the club and this year they have only lost to Liverpool”

“He has made them much more front-footed and aggressive. They press much more and are very organised in that pressure. On the ball they look very dynamic. The way they play and run behind the opponent is very impressive. I like the way they play”

He added:

“They look very strong, dynamic, physical, and aggressive. St James’ Park is one of the most difficult grounds to go to but we are up for the challenge. We will go out there with the best intentions of getting three points”

Key Brentford striker Ivan Toney will be eager to cause his former club Newcastle some issues on Saturday.

The former Peterborough United man, who was called up for the England squad last month, has scored five goals in eight league games so far this term.
