There was plenty of effort and endeavour from Brentford and Chelsea as they battled for the points in a hard-fought London derby.
Both sides went into the game on the back of positive results after Ivan Toney’s brace gave Brentford a 2-0 home win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday night before Mason Mount matched that feet to put Chelsea on their way to all three points with a hard-earned 2-0 win at out-of-form Aston Villa.
And although both sides have shown plenty of attacking prowess in recent weeks, it was the goalkeepers and defences that came out on top at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday night as the deadlock remained in place when the full-time whistle was blown. There were chances for a winner but Chelsea keeper Kepa and Bees counterpart David Raya can look back with some pride after earning their clean sheets.
