Arsenal transfer news: £25m midfielder ‘going to’ Arsenal, Tottenham ‘close to agreeing’ defender deal

Gabriel Jesus will become Arsenal’s highest earner when he completes his move from Manchester City to Arsenal, insiders have claimed.

The Brazilian, who was signed from Palmeiras in 2016 to replace Sergio Aguero, will become Arsenal’s new number nine with a reported £250,000-a-week wages.

That figure will surpass the £220,000-a-week-wages that Ghana international Thomas Partey is currently on, according to a report on Arsenal Insider.

Manchester City have added the highly sought-after Erling Haaland and the powerful Argentine Julián Álvarez to their squad, which essentially pushed Jesus down the pecking order.

Manchester City will get close to £50million in a transfer fee, which will help balance their books, while Arsenal get a goal scorer in his prime.

Gabriel Jesus has scored 58 goals and provided 32 assists for the Citizens in just 159 Premier League matches, and was the man who scored the all-important goal that City needed to become point centurions against Southampton in 2018.
