Premier League table without VAR: Where Arsenal, Tottenham & Chelsea would sit

There was plenty of debate and controversy about VAR in Chelsea's 4-4 draw with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon as the two sides played out a Premier League classic at Stamford Bridge. There were claims VAR should have intervened to overturn the decision to award City a first-half penalty after Marc Cucurella's tussle with Erling Haaland.

VAR stuck with the on-field decision, as it did with every big call in the entertaining encounter. The result saw City's gap at the top reduced as Arsenal won 3-1 at home to Burnley while Liverpool gained ground with a 3-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield. Tottenham Hotspur lost for the second game in a row as Wolves scored twice late on in a dramatic 2-1 win. Elsewhere, Crystal Palace lost 3-2 at home to Everton while West Ham were victorious by that scoreline against Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium. Fulham suffered a 3-1 loss at Aston Villa.
