Arsenal host newly promoted Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend, just days after their Europa League fixture. The Gunners lost 2-0 to PSV Eindhoven, to put an end to their perfect group stage.

Despite that loss, Arsenal’s group stage destiny is still in their hands. They need to ensure they beat bottom side Zurich. If they draw and PSV beat Bodo/Glimt, Arsenal will fall to second place.

However, in the league Arsenal are still firing and are unbeaten. Mikel Arteta’s side hasn’t lost since September 4, and remain top of the Premier League, two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s return to the top flight has had its ups and downs. They were criticised in the summer for purchasing more than 20 players, with their marquee signing being that of Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves for over £30 million.

Prior to the game, Forest currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League. Despite their league position, they recently won their first game since the opening weekend, beating Liverpool 1-0 at home.

Despite not being in the same league for over 20 years, these sides have recently met. Arsenal travelled to the City Ground in early 2022 in the third round of the FA Cup, where a Lewis Grabban goal secured a massive scalp in the competition.
