Gary Lineker in full agreement with Mikel Arteta over one Arsenal player after Leicester City win
Arsenal picked up a big win on Saturday despite almost blowing it at home to newly promoted Leicester City, giving up a two-goal lead. The Gunners required a stoppage time winner from Leandro Trossard to come out on top, while Kai Havertz managed to top the win off with a fourth at the depth.

Hide AdIt was not an ideal display from Arsenal, but they are showing a knack for still coming through with wins even when they concede goals this season. That will please Mikel Arteta as he looks to guide the club to the title at the third attempt. Arteta was also impressed with what he saw from 17-year-old sensation Ethan Nwaneri on Saturday, who came off the bench in the final minutes of the game.
“You don’t feel sorry for yourself, you take ownership, you start taking more risks, everybody,” Arteta said after the game. “Nwaneri, 17-years-old – he takes the ball, the first one is an action like this, he runs past two, three players and wants to take a shot. I just love it, you want to play here, you want to be at that level you need to play with that courage.”
Gary Lineker is another who was impressed by what he saw from the youngster in his few minutes on the pitch, saying on Match of the Day: “We saw a lovely cameo too, didn’t we, from Nwaneri? He looks really gifted. He looks special.”

Hide AdNwaneri ‘is ready’
Arteta has shown willingness to lead on Nwaneri of late despite his youth, and speaking earlier in the week, he said: “He’s improving daily. They really respect him. You can tell he’s playing without pressure, with confidence, with a way of making decisions that tells you that the boy is ready at this level. Today he had a really strong performance and I’m happy to see that.
"A lot of positives to take from it, first of all the performance and then the way we scored the goals. We gave minutes, deserved minutes to a lot of first team players that needed them. As well we had obviously very important debuts as well that make us really proud.”
