The German international confirmed he had noticed some movement while his family slept only to wake up to the unfortunate reality of losing his valuable items.

He told Bild: “I can confirm the incident, but I do not want to comment on it because investigations are underway that I do not want to disturb. But I’m doing more or less well.”

How everything happened at the defender’s home

The initial suspicion is that the thieves entered Mustafi’s home through his gulf court and silently made their way through the hallway where they broke into some of the rooms downstairs.

They targeted the ground floor rooms as Mustafi and his family occupied the bed rooms upstairs.

No one was hurt and no one offered resistance even though the defender is said to have claimed he heard some unusual movement but passed it on as nothing only to see the damages in the morning.

Days leading up to the robbery Mustafi is said to have posted pictures of himself in his courtyard with the location on display, and is thought the pictures could have led the thieves to have made their way through his courtyard.

According to Spanish paper AS, Mustafi gulf court is only protected by a small fence and thus would have made it very easy for the thieves to gain entrance to the main building.
