The Arsenal defender could make his first England appearance next month.

Arsenal full-back Myles Lewis-Skelly has been tipped for an England call-up ahead of the international break in March following a breakthrough few months with the Gunners.

The 18-year-old has been thrown into the deep end this season amid injuries at the Emirates Stadium and has turned heads with his mature performances as part of the Arsenal back four. A product of the Gunners academy, Lewis-Skelly has made 23 appearances for the first team this season and scored his first goal for the club against Manchester City in the Premier League this month.

Now, it appears that Lewis-Skelly may have put himself in Thomas Tuchel's thinking ahead of upcoming England matches. The Three Lions play Albania and Latvia in World Cup Qualifiers towards the end of March.

Lewis-Skelly tipped for England call-up

Taking to social media platform X on Sunday, Fabrizio Romano shared the news that Tuchel has been carefully watching the player. He wrote: "Thomas Tuchel and his staff are closely monitoring Myles Lewis-Skelly and his impressive development under Arteta. Internal discussions started about potential call as part of the England squad for the upcoming international break in March."

Tuchel was at the AMEX Stadium in January, but Lewis-Skelly was an unused substitute in that match. The Gunners drew 1-1 with the Seagulls with Declan Rice the only player of England interest featuring in that clash.

Lewis-Skelly has received praise from Arteta and his teammates since breaking into the first team this season. After one purring performance in the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last month, Declan Rice said: "The young boy Myles, he's just unbelievable. For 18, what he showed tonight was just ridiculous. It's scary. It's scary.

"The 18-year-olds now, they've got no fear whatsoever. He's got that Mousa Dembele trait where he uses his body to get away from stuff. The personality and character, honestly he's unbelievable."

Mikel Arteta praise for breakthrough Gunners man

The defender only made his Arsenal debut in September, replacing Jurrien Timber against Manchester City in a top flight fixture. His first start in the Champions League came against Monaco in December, a game which Arsenal won 3-0.

Speaking after that fixture, Gunners boss Arteta tipped Lewis-Skelly to continue to impress this season. He said: “It’s a really proud moment. He is one of our own. It’s just a joy to watch him, and a privilege to give the chance to somebody to start to change his career.

“He certainly took the chance. It’s great that we can trust them, that he can play in this environment and at this level. I was really happy with his performance.

"He’s got [a starting role]. And he’s been in contention. In pre-season he opened our eyes to say “I’m ready”. The same with Ethan [Nwaneri]. They feel comfortable in this environment and they can compete, not just play, which is very important at this level. Today he’s shown that he’s at the level."

In other news, Arsenal are reported to have 'reached an agreement' with a Borussia Dortmund star over a possible summer transfer.
