Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has welcomed Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu to training but there is still no sign of Reiss Nelson who is battling a thigh injury.

Gabriel Jesus is a long-term absentee but will continue to be present at homer games as he bids to ensure his colleagues can keep the momentum ahead of his return in February.

There could be a long awaited return for Emile Smith Rowe, he’s watched on as Arsenal have formed into one of the most exciting teams in Europe, before his injury, he was one of the team’s top scorers and in-form players. His return will be welcomed as the Gunners look to soften the blow of losing Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury.

The Gunners showed no signs of rustiness when they came from behind to beat West Ham but the game against Brighton and Hove has always promised to be a different kettle of fish.

The Gunners will also be delighted with the fact that they can call on Oleksandr Zinchenko who was a late introduction in the game against West Ham. Takehiro Tomiyasu has had hamstring issues but the fact that he’s back into training is another step towards the right direction.

Brighton will still be without Alexis Mac Allister who won’t be back in the team until new year after his brilliant form in helping Argentina win the World Cup. Adam Webster is also a doubt but Danny Welbeck could be back to face his former side. Arsenal have always found games at the Amex difficult with just one win there in recent times.
