The north London derby should be a real litmus test of those title credentials, but in the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Gunners.
Saliba offer due
Arsenal are said to be eyeing a new deal for centre-back William Saliba.
Saliba is already impressing in his first proper season at Arsenal, having spent two seasons out on loan.

That’s according to journaist Paul Brown, who told GiveMeSport: “I think from Arsenal’s point of view, they do know there is interest in him, and they would like to make sure that he’s tied down for the longer term if only to protect their investment.
“I can’t see Arsenal suddenly turning around and selling Saliba, but I do think that they want him on a longer contract, and they’re willing to give him a pay rise to do that.”
Double deal
Arteta is said to be keen on a double deal to sign Juventus duo Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti.

Though, it seems unlikely the Gunners will spend that much in January, and indeed that Juventus will sell Vlahovic, who has made a fine start to life in Turin.
