In-demand Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is said to have decided his preferred Premier League move.

Arsenal transfer target striker Viktor Gyokeres is said to have revealed where his preferred Premier League destination is amid interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Gunners got to see Gyokeres in action this week as they played against Sporting CP in the Champions League on Tuesday night, however they were able to nullify the Sweden international who didn’t score in Arsenal’s impressive 5-1 win against the Portuguese side.

Gyokeres has been linked to Arsenal since the summer transfer window, but a recent report suggests his preference is elsewhere in the Premier League. According to Football London, Gyokeres’ choice of a move would be to re-unite with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, despite Arsenal’s title ambitions.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City, but due to him scoring an impressive 66 goals in 68 games under Amorim, it is claimed that the Swedish international would rather make the move to Old Trafford despite the fact that there is a lack of competition for places in the striker role at Arsenal.

Arsenal could prioritise alternative after Gyokeres snub

Suppose Gyokeres is completely against a move to the Emirates. In that case, Arsenal may decide to pursue Newcastle United man Alexander Isak who has been linked with both the Gunners and rivals Chelsea, who also want to add a striker.

However, according to a recent report, Newcastle have said that they don’t want to sell Isak for less than £115m despite the fact that he is yet to sign a new contract at St. James’ Park. So far this season, he has scored four goals and two assists in ten Premier League games.

As a cheaper alternative, Arsenal have also been linked to Atalanta striker Matteo Retegui, whose value is estimated to be around £38m, making him a much more affordable and less risky signing for Mikel Arteta. Retegui currently has 14 goals in 19 games in all competitions for the Serie A side this season.
