All the latest news surrounding Arsenal as they prepare for FA Cup third round action.

Arsenal are back in action on Sunday when they take on Manchester United in the FA Cup third round. It will be interesting to see how strong a side Mikel Arteta picks given the club’s clear prioritisation of the Premier League and the title race.

In the meantime, Arteta and his staff will be considering January transfer deals, and with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Deal confirmed

Arsenal star Marquinhos is back on the move, joining Cruzeiro on loan for the year. The 21-year-old is now on his fourth loan move after making 23 league appearances for Fluminense on loan in his last spell.

A club statement read: “Marquinhos has joined Cruzeiro on loan until the end of the Brazilian Serie A season in December. The 21-year-old has recently returned from a year-long loan with fellow Brazilian side, Fluminense where he made 29 appearances in all competitions. Marquinhos joined Fluminense just a few months after their first-ever Copa Libertadores title and went on to be a part of their success when they lifted silverware once again in March 2024, winning the Recopa Sudamericana against LDU Quito.

“The Brazil youth international previously had short-term loan spells at both Norwich City in the Championship and French side Nantes in Ligue 1. Everyone at the club wishes Marquinhos all the best for his loan spell with Cruzeiro and look forward to seeing his continued development. The loan deal is subject to regulatory processes.” Marquinhos joined Arsenal back in 2022 but has only ever made one league appearance.

Ramsdale on the move again?

Aaron Ramsdale looks to be on the move again just months after leaving Arsenal on a deal worth around £25million. The goalkeeper fell out of favour with the Gunners after the arrival of David Raya, and he ultimately joined Southampton, a move that has not gone well.

The Saints have sacked Russell Martin in recent weeks after a disastrous start that has seen them pick up just six point so far, putting them at danger of a record low points total, which is 11. It’s reported Ramsdale could now secure an escape, with The Sun saying Newcastle United are interested as they chase a new goalkeeper this month. Ramsdale could swap the bottom of the table for a chance to compete for a top four spot this season.
