Arsenal ready to pounce on transfer if rival suffers relegation

All the latest Arsenal news as the Gunners prepare for the return of club football this weekend.

Arsenal will be itching to get back to action as the international break rumbles on.

The Gunners are closing in on a Premier League title as we approach the final weeks of the season, and fans will be anxious to see whether their side can hold their nerve, something they failed to manage in the top four race last term. Though, Mikel Arteta’s men have improved significantly since then, and whatever happens between now and the end of the season, it seems the future is bright for the Gunners.

In the meantime, and as the internationals draw to a conclusion, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Saka claim

Pundit Chris Sutton believes Bukayo Saka is outperforming all others in his position this season, including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

“Saka is winning the battle on the right. Salah has not been the same footballing force for Liverpool this season,” he told Mail Plus. “Mahrez is incredibly talented for Man City but I would rank Saka ahead of him.

“And I won’t be taking any suggestions of Antony seriously — the United man probably has Saka posters hanging on his bedroom wall.”

Paqueta links

Arsenal are being linked with a move for West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta.

According to, the Gunners believe Paqueta could become available should West Ham go down this summer, and they make a move regardless of whether they move to sign Declan Rice from their London rivals. Paqueta only joined West Ham in the summer, and he was linked with a move to Arsenal during his Lyon days.

The Brazil international will almost certainly avoid playing Championship football next season regardless of whether West Ham go down, and there could be a cut-price deal available should the worst happen to the Hammers.
