Arsenal are now preparing for a trip to the East Midlands as they continue their Premier League title charge.

The Gunners came from behind to defeat Aston Villa in dramatic fashion last weekend, gaining over Manchester City, who slipped up, and they will be looking to build on that momentum when they face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this weekend. Mikel Arteta’s men have a two-point lead currently, and they still have a game in hand to play.

Elneny deal

Arsenal have confirmed a new contract for midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Elneny is the Gunners’ longest-serving player, and he has now penned a deal to keep him in place until 2024, with his previous deal headed for expiration this summer. Speaking after signing the deal, Elneny said: “I’m so happy, I love this club and our supporters so much and I’ll give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I’m here.”

Asked about being the club’s longest-serving player, he added: “It makes me so proud to have represented this amazing club since 2016. The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad right now is so positive and I’m so happy I have extended my contract.”

Arsenal are said to be weighing up a big-money offer for Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund ahead of this summer.

The Dane has only been with the Serie A club since last summer, but he is already commanding attention from a number of clubs around Europe. La Repubblica claim that Arsenal are set to make a ‘monstrous offer’ in a bid to keep Real Madrid away from the negotiating table this summer.

It’s claimed Atalanta will not consider selling Hoijlund for less than £44million.
