The reports states that he has two years left on his contract at PSG, but there is no sign that the midfielder wants to extend his deal.
That means that the French club could be forced into his sale in order to make a profit on Simons who they bought from Eredivisie side PSV in 2023, after he had spent his youth career at the Parc De Princes.
GiveMeSport has suggested that Arsenal is currently the most likely destination for Simons who could slot into Mikel Arteta’s midfield alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. They state that there is interest in the ‘superstar’ from the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga as PSG wouldn’t be short of bids should they decide to sell Simons.
Arsenal face competition from Premier League rivals for Simons
The Gunners aren’t the only English side that is keen on the Dutch international as Liverpool has also been tipped as a potential destination for Simons. However, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also said to both hold an interest in the 21-year-old whilst RB Leipzig want to make his loan move a permanent deal. However, it is unlikely that the Bundesliga side possesses the financial capability to based on the fact that the report suggests that Bayern Munich was previously willing to pay £83 million for Simons.
