Arsenal hold ‘transfer advantage’ over Premier League rival as ‘second bid’ prepared

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as the World Cup action continues in Qatar.

Arsenal are eagerly waiting the return of Premier Leaguefootball as the World Cup continues in Qatar.

The Gunners went into the break five points clear at the top of the Premier League, and fans will be excited to get back into action to see whether the Gunners’ title hopes are for real. We still have more than half of the season to play, and Manchester City are not going to go quietly in their defence of the title.

In the meantime, while the World Cup continues, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Mudryk advantage

Arsenal are said to hold a key advantage in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk in the January transfer window.

According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, Mudryk would prefer to sign for Arsenal than Newcastle United, who have also been linked with a move for the winger.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “Newcastle are very much not the frontrunners for Mudryk, who has got his heart set on Arsenal, a bit like Tielemans has got his heart set on Arsenal. But, with both Tielemans and Mudryk, Arsenal simply haven’t bid at this point.”

Danilo bid

Arsenal are being backed to make a second bid to land Brazilian starlet Danilo.

The Gunners are already said to have had a bid rejected for the Palmeiras star, and according to Jorge Nicola, they are preparing to submit a second bid after the World Cup group stages have been completed.

It’s reported Danilo will cost somewhere in the region of £21.5million in the January window, if indeed Arsenal can convince Palmeiras to sell. Edu is a bid admirer of Danilo’s, and Mikel Arteta is convinced he could be the ideal option as he looks to sign a defensive midfielder.
