Arsenal handed £30m transfer windfall blow as rivals 'make £22m bid' for alternative
Arsenal are still working on a deal to offload Eddie Nketiah who is not likely to feature in Mikel Arteta’s plans for this season. The Gunners have spent significantly again this summer with the signings of David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori and likely Mikel Merino, who is expected to arrive from Real Sociedad.

Hide AdWith more than £200million spent last summer, Arsenal must balance their spending this time around to ensure they remain within Profit and Sustainability rules. A number of players are likely to be offloaded, with Nketiah potentially departing in the near future, while Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Tierney, Jakub Kiwior and others all reportedly on the transfer list.
Nketiah is being courted by Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest, who are said to be in talks over a £30million deal for the forward. The 25-year-old is said to keen on a move with reports he has already agreed personal terms, but no deal has been agreed with Arsenal at this stage.
With no deal agreed at this stage, Forest are said to be lining up an alternative in case the deal falls through. According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest are pushing for a deal for Feyenoord star Santiago Gimenez, and it seems unlikely they would be able to sign both Gimenez and Nketiah.

However, Forest have also shown an interest in Santiago Gimenez – their bid has been rejected by Feyenoord, €26m plus add-ons was still not enough. Nketiah is unlikely to land a starting role at Arsenal ahead of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, largely appearing off the bench last season. He would likely be a starter at the City Ground, with Forest looking to beat the bottom three again this season.
