Arsenal forward given green light to head out the exit door on trial

Arsenal forward George Lewis is reportedly on trial with Norwegian side Sandefjord.

The youngster has been given the green light to train with another team.

Lewis, 22, is way down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

According to a report by Sandefjords Blad, he is training back in Norway.

However, it is unknown at this stage whether he leaving permanently or on loan.

Arsenal situation

Arsenal swooped to sign Lewis back in August 2020 but despite being a regular for the U21s, he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the London club.

He has a year left on his contract and is due to become a free agent next summer (June 2023).

The attacker played for Tromsdalen UIL and Fram Larvik before landing his move to England and may well be heading back to Scandinavia with Sandefjord casting their eyes over him now.

They play their football in the top flight (Eliteserien).

Arsenal have loaned out the likes of Auston Trusty, Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson, Folarin Balogun and Arthur Okonkwo so far this summer, whilst attacking midfielder Salah Oulad M’Hand left on loan to Hull City with a view to a permanent exit.
