Arsenal favourite picks out 3 players who impressed during ‘phenomenal’ Spurs win

Which Arsenal players impressed Ian Wright against Tottenham Hotspur?

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has singled out Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli and Ben White for high praise.

The Gunners beat bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead through Thomas Partey, only for Harry Kane to level it up from the penalty spot.

However, they made sure of the points after goals from Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka.

White, 24, played right-back once again for the hosts and put in an impressive performance to help his side pick up another three points along with Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Wright said on Match of the Day:

“It was a phenomenal performance. (Granit) Xhaka has a new lease of life. (Gabriel) Martinelli is playing like he’s got infinity stones.

“When you look at the way Arsenal have improved, they have more shots, have more shots converted and have high turnovers.”

The former striker then hailed the influence of White:

“I thought he was magnificent today. Tottenham gave him a lot of space.

“That was a fantastic performance and he had the most touches in the game out of everyone. I’m so pleased for him.”

Arsenal have their fans dreaming of a title win this term but Arteta will know that they need to remain focused on the task at hand.

The London club have won seven out of their opening eight matches and are four points ahead of 2nd place Manchester City ahead of their clash against Manchester United today.

Next up for the Gunners is a European game against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday before another home clash against Liverpool next weekend.
