Arsenal’s season has now drawn to a close, and some season it was.

The Gunners put together an unexpected title charge this term, and while they did wind up coming up short, Mikel Arteta and his men can still take plenty of encouragement from the experience. Arsenal will now be putting plans in place for next season, and they will want to come even closer to top prize during the next campaign, while also managing a run in the Champions League.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Cancelo latest

Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Arsenal’s reported chase of Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo ahead of the summer.

“Understand Manchester City are ready to sell João Cancelo this summer. He will return from Bayern, €70m buy option won’t be triggered,” tweeted Romano. “Arsenal appreciate Cancelo, he’s one of the names in the list. Barça have genuine interest since January but… depends on FFP.”

Barcelona are likely to struggle to pay anywhere near the amount City will demand for Cancelo this summer, struggling financially, while also reportedly trying to resign Lionel Messi this summer.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is reportedly attracting attention ahead of this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, French giants Paris Saint Germain are interested in Odegaard, who has enjoyed a superb season. The Norwegian has been a sensation for Arsenal since joining from Real Madrid, while he also impressed during a loan spell before that.

With Odegaard a key part of Arteta’s plans, it’s very unlikely he is going to be allowed to leave, and if he does, it would need to be on a huge fee for the same reason, Arsenal are also looking to make changes to their midfield this summer, with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka expected to move on, so it’s unlikely they will also allow Odegaard - one of their most important players - to leave.
