The contract is set to run until 2027, with the Gunners moving to land an exciting prospect to kick off their summer.

Botman bid

Arsenal are being backed to make a late attempt to sign Lille star Sven Botman this summer.

Botman is said to be close to a move to AC Milan after rejecting an offer from Newcastle United, but the Gunners are said to have made a late move.

La Repubblica say Arsenal have made a late attempt to hijack Milan’s deal, with Arteta hoping to further improve his back-line.

Jose Mourinho has long been an admirer of Gunners midfielder Granit Xhaka, and he could circle back in a bid to secure a deal this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho is weighing up another move for the midfielder, having tried to sign him last summer.

The Swiss international featured regularly at Arsenal this season, but it’s reported he could be made available should the Gunners be successful in their reported bid to land Youri Tielemans this summer.

Xhaka made 27 Premier League appearances this season, and he seems to have a fan in Mourinho.
