It’s the greatest city on Earth, so of course the world’s richest and most famous people gravitate here.
According to the website CelebrityNetWorth - which says its data is rooted in financial analysis and fact checked by editors and industry insiders - Star Wars and American Graffiti mastermind George Lucas is the world’s richest celebrity with $10bn available to spend on action figures, Deliveroo and, well, anything.
In second place with a net worth of $8bn is fellow (but poorer) director Steven Spielberg - the man behind ET, Jurassic Park and Columbo: Murder by the Book.
Oprah is third ($3.5bn) and Jami Gertz ($bn), who is an actor and part owner of the Atlanta Hawks basketball franchise, comes fourth.

1. Rihanna
At number five on the list, and the top London entry (by my calculations), is pop empress Rihanna ($1.7bn), who lived for a period in a huge St John’s Wood mansion. (Picture: Mike Lawrie/Getty Images) | Getty Images

2. Sir Paul McCartney
Sir Macca ($1.2bn) was a near neighbour of Rihanna, and can be seen here sitting on the doorstep of his St John’s Wood home with two kittens in 1967. He is at number eight in the list (number two in London). He was in the Beatles and Wings. (Picture: Leslie Lee/Express/Getty Images) | Getty Images

3. Slavica Ecclestone
At number nine (three in London) is former Chelsea resident Slavia Ecclestone ($1.2bn), a Croatian former model and the ex-wife of Formula One owner Bernie Ecclestone. (Picture: Mark Thompson/Getty Images) | Getty Images

4. JK Rowling
Since uniting the world with wizadry, JK Rowling has become a little more divisive. The author has lived in Clapham and Kensington and is worth $1bn, placing her at 11 on the list and fourth in London. (Picture: by Stuart C Wilson/Getty Images) | Getty Images
