Starbucks has announced that it will be collaborating with local London artist Bee Illustrates for their new bespoke cup collection. The reusable cups are a part of the coffee chain’s Valentine’s Day promotion to celebrate the day of love.

Customers will be able to head to a select store on Saturday, February 11, to get their hands on a bespoke illustrated reusable cup, decorated in-store by the London artist. Manchester artist Pypah Santos and Edinburgh’s Katie Smith have also created designs for Starbucks as part of the collaboration and they will be holding their own events in each city on the same day.

Illustrator Bee Illustrates’ thoughtful design, focused on the importance of self-love, is sure to spread positivity this Valentine’s Day. Talking about the bespoke reusable illustration service, they said: “I’m thrilled to be working on this partnership and through it, hopefully encourage people to make the most of their reusable cups and spread a little joy at the same time. I’m so excited to celebrate love in all its forms and share my art in the process.

“Valentine’s Day is typically focused entirely on romantic love, and I wanted to use my art to celebrate iterations of love that fall outside of that category. As a queer person, celebrating love that looks a little different is a reoccurring theme within my art, and this design embodies that.”

Starbucks has also released some new menu items ahead of Valentine’s Day, which you can enjoy inside your new bespoke cup. The new offering includes a Chocolatey Pretzel Frappuccino, Salted Pretzel Hot Chocolate and Valentine shortbread.

In addition, Starbucks are giving customers a 25p discount every time they reuse their customised cup.

If you cannot make the event on February 11, the coffee chain will also be writing a handwritten note on customer’s cups this Valentine’s Day when they order via  Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.  If you’re feeling romantic and want to spread the love on February 14, simply search your partner’s location on the takeaway apps, pick a treat of choice from the Starbucks menu and your loved one will receive a handwritten note on the cup.
