St Luke’s Hospice: Summer festival to celebrate 35 years of care

It has been 35 years since St Luke’s Hospice first started caring for the people of Brent and Harrow, and now they are re-opening their doors to the community after a few quiet years due to Covid.

To celebrate the significant milestone, the hospice is inviting the public to a summer music festival at the start of July.

The two-day event has been organised on Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, at the St Luke’s garden in front of Kenton Grange.

All proceeds raised from ticket sales will go towards fundraising which pays for the care of six out of 10 patients.

For over three decades, St Luke’s Hospice has been providing care for those who have serious illnesses, which are no longer curable - helping them to have the best quality of life.

From wellbeing services and care at home to an inpatient unit, the hospice has been supporting local people and their families in Brent and Harrow since 1987.

Harrow Community Gospel Choir will be performing an uplifting mixture of contemporary gospel songs and spirituals on the Saturday, directed by CeCelia Wickham-Anderson.

Starting at 7.30pm, people can enjoy refreshments and the bar while listening to the music.

Tickets for the Harrow Gospel Choir are priced at £12 for adults and £10 for children, while tickets for the Sunday’s All Things Irish event are £10 each.

The second day of the St Luke’s Hospice festival features acoustic music, Guinness and Irish treats from 1.30pm.

The marquee welcomes Ronan (the lead singer from the London Irish band Biblecode Sundays) and Fionnghuala who will be performing Irish songs, alongside a bar and a raffle on the day.
