Woolwich: Man arrested after boy, 8, dies and three hurt in motorcycle crash

A man has been arrested after a motorcycle crash that killed an eight year old boy and left three others injured in south east London.

The boy died at the scene after being hit while crossing the road in Plumstead Road, Woolwich, on Sunday.

A man, aged in his 40s, and a 10-year-old boy, who were crossing the road together with the younger boy, were taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.

The man remains in a life-threatening condition but the 10-year-old’s condition is no longer life-threatening.

The 20-year-old rider of the motorcycle has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.
