A weather warning was initially placed for north east Scotland, but it seems the miserable weather has made its way down to the capital.

Tuesday is set to be the most miserable with lengthy spells of torrential rainfall and strong gusts of wind.

Showers are expected to become heavier and more frequent heading towards the early evening, helping to form a thunderstorm that will last from 7pm to 8pm.

Experts, AccuWeather, have forecast four hours of showers and gales as powerful as 29km/h.

It is not all doom and gloom as Wednesday is expected to be the calmest, with day-long clear skies, moderate levels of sunshine and temperatures of 15℃.

However, the last four days of the week are marred by regular rainfall which gets heavier towards the weekend.

The weather will become more unsettled with the potential of thunder from Thursday onwards.

Temperatures are set to dip below average slightly with mild lows of 16℃ as skies become increasingly cloudy and windy with coastal gales at times.
