Supermoon August 2022: Stunning photos of glowing moon over London

The fourth and final supermoon of the year thrilled stargazers in London and the rest of the UK, on Thursday night rising into the sky glowing a deep orange.

The Sturgeon supermoon, named after the fish, was the second to take place in 2022, following July 13’s supermoon.

With the Met Office forecasting a clear night sky across London, the Sturgeon supermoon occurred just before another cosmic lightshow - the peak of the Perseids meteor shower on August 13
