Park Royal Tube track crash: Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving

Yagmur Ozden, was killed when a Range Rover crashed at high speed into a Tesla charging point before landing on the tracks at Royal Park Station.

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a horror crash which saw a Range Rover left crumpled on Tube tracks in west London.

Yagmur Ozden, 33, died after the car hit a Tesla parked in a dealership by Park Royal station and ended up on the line on August 22.

Rida Kazem, 23, of Costons Avenue, Greenford, was also charged on Monday with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to provide a blood sample.

He was previously in a critical condition following the crash.

He has been bailed to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on January 10 2023.

An inquest opened in August into Ms Ozden’s death heard she had lived in Finchley and was born in Baghdad, Iraq.

She worked as an eyelash technician in London and was a mother to a 12-year-old daughter.

In a tribute, her family described Miss Ozden,  as “an angel” who could “cheer the saddest person up.”

“She was an amazing and supportive mother,” they said. “She had an amazing bond with her daughter and her daughter will always cherish those moments she had with her mum.”

A second passenger in the Range Rover, a 26-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital following the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.
