Storm Eunice: London Eye and Kew Gardens closed due to severe weather warning

Rare red weather warnings have been issued across London and the southeast today, as Storm Eunice is expected to bring gusts of up to 100mph.
People are being urged to stay at home, and only travel if journeys are absolutely necessary, while forecasters warn “significant” gusts may bring down trees, power lines and roofs.

Hide AdThe Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has advised all Londoners to stay at home and not to travel unless essential.
A number of parks and attractions have also closed amid warnings of “flying debris resulting in danger to life.”

Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens announced yesterday that the botanical gardens will close on Friday due to the adverse weather conditions.
Customers who have tickets for Friday will be contacted by See Tickets with details of how to reschedule their visit or obtain a refund.
London Eye and River Cruise

Hide AdThe London Eye and River Cruise have also shut stating that the “safety of our guests is our number one priority and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Legoland
Legoland also revealed it will close, tweeting: "Due to the weather warning issued by the Met Office we’ve made the difficult decision to close the resort tomorrow."
Royal Parks
Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park, The Green Park, Greenwich Park, The Regent’s Park, Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Brompton Cemetery, Victoria Tower Gardens and Primrose Hill have also been closed.
The Royal Parks said on Twitter: “This decision is based on the strong winds, the age and vulnerability of trees in particular parks.”
Tower of London

Hide AdThe Tower of London has also announced that it will close for the rest of Friday afternoon. Customers are being asked to contact their customer service team to rebook tickets.
National Theatre: Wuthering Heights
The National Theatre on London’s South Bank said it was “sorry to announce” its stage adaptation of the 1847 novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë would not take place on Friday.
“We’re so sorry for the inconvenience and plan to resume performances on 19 Feb,” the theatre tweeted.
Secret Cinema: Bridgerton Ball
Secret Cinema said it had cancelled its Bridgerton-inspired show, which had been due to take place at a “stunning indoor ballroom in Wembley” on Friday night.
