Love Island fans have been speculating that Zara Lackenby-Brown will return to their screens before the ITV series ends.

The model, 25, from London, who entered the South African villa as a bombshell, was dumped from the island after an unexpected recoupling on Wednesday’s episode.

She was left standing alone in front of her fellow contestants, having failed to form a romantic spark with any of the boys while her former flame Tom Clare chose to couple up with Ellie Spence.

Tom explained his decision, saying: “I would like to couple up with this girl because I feel like she’s had a rough time in the villa so far. This is not an easy decision for me and I never want to see anyone go home.

“I do believe this girl is genuine and she’s here to meet someone, she deserves a fair shot whether that’s with me or someone else.”

Tom’s decision not to couple up with Zara wasn’t a surprise to viewers, as it comes after they had a heated row and he was left furious when she made comments suggesting that his family should be “ashamed” of his behaviour so far on the show.

Zara held her head high as she agreed to enjoy a night out in London’s Chelsea with the girls when the show ends.

Stepping out, she joked:  “I’m gonna go find someone rich and older.”

Speaking about her initial pairing with Tom, Zara said: “I did think there could be potential with Tom. He’d told me he’d been in a long-term relationship, so I already knew he was capable of being committed.

“The age difference was a bit of a barrier for me – girls mature faster than guys.”

Many fans took to Twitter comparing the blonde beauty to previous Love Island bombshells Maura Higgins and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, while others seemed unconvinced by the outcome and suggested producers could set her up to return to the show in Casa Amor.

One person wrote: “Maybe I’m in denial but for some reason I feel a plot twist coming and Zara is actually coming back 😭 #loveisland”

“I need to believe that the only reason the producers let Zara leave is so that they could bring her back in a couple weeks and make it the face crack of the century.  #loveisland,” another tweeted.

A third said: “Petition to bring zara back for casa amor #loveisland”

A fourth added: “Im sorry but if Producers could save girls like Maura and Anna from being dumped or bringing back bombshells like Adam 4 years later, then im pretty sure they wont find any difficulties in bringing back Zara. PRODUCERS DO WHATS RIGHT AND BRING HER BACK #loveisland”
