Kate became emotional as she said: “This is so emotional, It’s making me cry because Tia’s mum had done that for her as well.

“I don’t know if I’ve spoken about this but it was her mission to go to her birthday party.

“It’s very similar and they were so ill but had the strength to go to their children’s birthday party. It makes my heart warm but it’s sad as well.”

Kate married Rio, who is a former Manchester United defender, in 2019 and they have one son, Cree, two, and are expecting their second child together.

She also told the podcast: “I put myself in the position as a mum to think of anyone who is a parent and is going to pass away and what is going through their head and in those final moments, they’re still thinking of their children and what’s best for their children.

"That makes me emotional because it’s amazing that you could be so selfless and still put yourself at the bottom of the pile."

Kate, who previously appeared on The Only Way is Essex has previously shared that she was “naive” about becoming a step-mum and the experience following the “deep loss” in their family.

She previously told the Loose Women: “I was quite naive stepping into it. I thought I’d be fine. I didn’t really take into consideration the dynamics. I’ve learned that I am very resilient and that to have a big heart can get you quite far in life.”

Kate also shared that she had been learning to be less hard on herself and has been having therapy “as and when” needed which has helped combat “mum guilt”’.

She said: “I’ve always put pressure on myself, but it’s impossible to be the perfect mum, cook beautiful healthy dinners every night, go to the gym, spend time with your husband and go to work”

Last week Kate revealed that she and Rio were expecting their second baby with an Instagram post captioned: “We’ve been praying for you …”

A video shared by the former reality star saw her walking away from the camera, before turning and revealing her growing baby bump.
