England Lioness Chloe Kelly has celebrated her west London roots with a ride on an iconic TfL red London bus - with her name on.

Londoner Chloe was a key part of the England team who made history at the Euros this summer - and scored the winning goal in the thrilling 2-1 final against Germany.

The star celebrated her success by taking the route 92 bus she used to ride from her childhood home in Ealing to Wembley Stadium to buy FA Cup final matchday programmes.

But thanks to Transport for London (TfL) the bus was given a special twist - with Chloe’s name at the front of the vehicle and on-board announcements referencing the Lionesses.

After the trip on Monday (September 5), she said: “I used to take the 92 bus as a kid so it is incredible all these years later to be on a 92 bus with my name on it

“The route brings back so many memories for me so this is a once in a lifetime experience.

The celebration came on the eve of England’s first match in the UK since their historic Euro 2022 victory, which saw them beat Luxembourg 10-0 in Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday.

Chloe met Metroline bus driver Ashwani Kumar, who said: “I’ve been a bus driver for 15 years and often drove the route 92 bus.

Julie Dixon, TfL customer director, said: “We absolutely loved to hear that Chloe Kelly used to get the route 92 to Wembley and felt it was only right to honour her in this special way.

“We hope everyone getting on and off at Wembley Stadium will be inspired by the posters, and remember that every great journey starts somewhere – perhaps on one of our buses.”

The posters are displayed at stops SD and SA on Wembley Hill Road until September 15.

While the onboard announcements will be played on routes 92, plus 83, 182, 223, 440, 483 and N83 until October 1.
