Over the last decade or so, e-bikes have become an increasingly popular method of navigating London.
Cheaper than a Black Cab and less crowded than the Tube, electric bikes first burst onto the scene in the late 2010s.

Hide AdIn 2013, Haringey became the first borough in Britain to trial an electric cycle hire scheme.
Fast forward (or pedal) to today and there are more than 40,000 e-bikes for sale in the capital.
In January 2024, Transport for London (TfL) announced that the number of e-bikes in the Santander Cycles scheme would increase from 600 to 2,000.
TfL also introduced a £3 day pass that allows unlimited journeys under 30 minutes.

Hide AdE-bikes can often be a divisive topic, with some arguing they are a convenient and environmentally friendly method of transport.
While others simply detest them and view them as a menace to the capital’s roads.
So we decided to head out onto the streets and ask some Londoners what they think about e-bikes.
