ITV ‘bomb scare’: Severe Tube delays on Central line after police evacuate studio over ‘security alert’

Severe delays are in place on the Central line after two Tube stations were closed due to a police evacuation of the ITV studio amid fears of a “bomb scare”.
This Morning and Loose Women viewers were left mystified after the show dramatically went off air earlier today (Thursday, March 10).

Hide AdStaff were evacuated from the television studio and nearby Wood Lane and White City tube stations were closed during the “security alert”.
Baffled viewers took to Twitter with social media users describing it as an “ITV blackout” and a “bomb scare”.
Twitter user Alexander Smotrov said: “The last thing you need when you try to get to the office all morning is the security alert shutting down @TfL services in #WhiteCity area…”
While photos from the area show evacuated staff stood outside the building.

Hide AdPictures were showing people gathering outside the Television Centre.
The Met Police tweeted: “Police dealt with a suspicious package reported at 11.44am this morning at White City.
“The incident was stood down at 12.49pm.”
They added: “Cordons have now been lifted.”
While Transport for London (TfL) warned passengers to expect disruption in the area, saying: “White City and Wood Lane stations closed while the police respond to a security alert outside the station.”
Hammersmith & Fulham Council warned residents: “Emergency alert. Please avoid the Wood Lane W12 area.

Hide Ad“Police are on site and have evacuated the BBC building as well as White City and Wood Lane Tube stations.
“More details to follow.”
And there are still issues across the Central Line, with a warning published on the TfL website reading: “Severe delays due to an earlier security alert at White City.
“London Underground tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Chiltern Railways and Great Western Railway.”
And the This Morning team wrote in a tweet: “We apologise for the break in live programming today.
“We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon.”
