Westminster collision: Man arrested after elderly woman suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries

A elderly woman in her 80s has been left in a “life-threatening condition” after she was struck by a car in Westminster.
The driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Hide AdPolice were called to St George’s Square and Lupus Street, in Westminster, at 12.15pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 1) to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
Officers and paramedics raced to the incident and the pedestrian, in her 80s, was taken to hospital “where she remains in a life-threatening condition,” the Met Police said.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, stopped at the scene.
“He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in custody at a central London police station.
