A teenage girl was grabbed from behind and dragged down an alleyway then gang raped by two masked men near Peckham Rye station.
The 18-year-old woman was attacked by two men wearing gloves and face coverings near the Southwark station last night.
The victim was walking down an alleyway just after 10.20pm, when she was grabbed from behind and taken to Holly Grove, in nearby Bellenden, and raped by both suspects.
The two men are described as wearing dark clothing, the Met Police said in an appeal for information today.
Part of Peckham Rye station has been cordoned off and has been designated a crime scene.
So far no arrests have been made, according to Scotland Yard.
Det Supt Clair Kelland said today: “The investigation into this incident is fast paced and ongoing and involves an extensive crime scene.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Peckham Rye Station between 10pm and 11pm last night who saw anything that might assist our investigation.”
Southwark politicians expressed their horror at the shocking incident.
Deputy council leader Cllr Jasmine Ali (Lab, Rye Lane) said: “We’re all reeling from shock that a teenager was taken from Rye Lane station by two men and raped in Holly Grove last night.
“We must catch and convict these rapists.”
While Cllr Evelyn Akoto (Lab, Old Kent Road) added: “I’m appalled and angry to hear about the violent attack by two men on a woman near Peckham Rye station.
“It’s unacceptable that women continue to live in fear.
“Please help us get these individuals off our streets.”
