Man in hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after being hit by car in Tooting

A man has been taken to hospital with potentially “life-threatening injuries” after he was hit by a car in Tooting, south London.
Met Police officers and paramedics were called to Garratt Lane, in Wandsworth, at 1.35am this morning (Thursday, October 27).

Hide AdPhotos on social media show a police cordon in the areas, with uniformed officers, cars and motorbikes present.
One man has been arrested.
It followed reports of a “reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian,” the force told LondonWorld.
A police spokesperson said: “The pedestrian was taken to hospital with potential life threatening injuries.
“The driver - a man - was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.”
He remains in police custody.
