Emergency services rushed to the Hammersmith and City Line at the central London station just before 1.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

At the time, police said a man had tried to pull a woman onto the tracks before being hit by a train himself.

Hawrylewicz was taken to hospital and treated for head injuries, a British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said, adding the woman was unharmed.

He made his first court appearance today.
