Boy, 14, charged with wounding after teen stabbed in Harringay Sainsbury’s car park

Police said the victim, 15, was “lucky to be alive” after the stabbing.

A boy, 14, has been charged after another teen was found with serious stab wounds in a Sainsbury’s car park in Harringay.

The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place and attempted robbery.

He has been remanded in police custody to appear before Highbury Corner Youth Court on Thursday, January 27.

Police were called at 4.32pm on Monday January 24 to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people in the Sainsbury’s car park, in Williamson Road, just off Green Lanes, in Harringay.

Upon arrival, a 15-year-old boy was found with serious injuries consistent with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Det Insp Paul Ridley, from the north area CID, which covers Haringey, is leading the investigation.

He said: “The young victim is extremely lucky to be alive.

“I know that the area was bustling with people at the time and I need these people to come forward to my investigation team.

“If you witnessed the disturbance or are in possession of any dashcam footage which may have captured the events I really need to hear from you as a priority.

“I assure you that all information will be acted upon.
