Dennis Akpomedaye, 29, of Blewitt Street, Newport, has been charged by police and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court later today.

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found stabbed to death in an alleyway in west London.

Ania Jedrkowiak, 21, was found suffering numerous stab injuries near Church Gardens, in south Ealing, just after midnight on Tuesday, May 17.

Dennis Akpomedaye, 29, of Blewitt Street, Newport, Wales, has been charged by police.

He appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 19, where he was remanded to at the Old Bailey on Monday, May 23.

A 20-year-old man who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without further action.

Enquiries are ongoing, the force has said.
