Hide AdGet Licensed runs training for licences around alcohol sales and security, and has created an “overall night out score” for cities based on factors including safety levels, the number of bars and clubs, the cost of a pint and residents’ safety concerns.
According to the firm, Newcastle comes top with a score of 8.19/10, while London comes bottom with 1.73/10.
The company said: “London fell to the bottom of the ranking as it scored poorly for a number of nightlife factors. Everyone knows that nights out in London are a pricey affair and are likely to break the bank, but the city hosts various prestigious bars and clubs. London’s West End is world-famous and is home to plenty of bars and clubs.

“Although, the safety index score in London was higher than others in the top three (46.29). London also lost points for its number of real ale pubs (30 per 100,000) and scored higher for its bars and clubs.”
