Celebrity MasterChef 2022: Who is Gareth Malone, how to watch and full line-up

The immensely-popular BBC One cooking competition Celebrity MasterChef is set to return to our television screens and Londoners have got quite a few people  to cheer for.

One of those hoping to win the coveted title is the capital’s own Gareth Malone .

The choirmaster stands alongside some high-profile names, such as boxing icon Chris Eubank as well as Love Island’s Faye Winter.

Spanning across six weeks of fierce cookery competition, each contestant will tackle a series of challenges in hope to be crowned the victor.

The reigning champion of the show is para-athletics athlete Kadeena Cox, who was crowned Queen of the MasterChef kitchen in 2021.

With the 2022 series about to kick-off, here is how you can tune in and show support for London’s own Gareth Malone.

When is Celebrity MasterChef 2022?

Fans of the show will need not to wait long to tune in to this year’s Celebrity MasterChef.

The first of 18 episodes will air on Wednesday, 10 August 2022 and will lastover the course of six weeks.

Fans of the television show will not be surprised to know that London has a fair few representatives once again in 2022.

Who is Celebrity MasterChef’s Gareth Malone?

Gareth Malone is not just a choirmaster but a BAFTA-award-winning presenter of monster hit television series The Choir and BBC’s Pitch Battle.

Born in London and living in North London, the 46-year-old started climbing the fame ladder when The Choir first hit our screens in the early 2000’s.

Mr Malone was filmed teaching choral singing to pupils at Northolt High School in 2006/2007, many of whom were new to singing.

Since then, he has gained mass popularity from viewers who get enthralled with his teaching methods and sheer yet overwhelming love for music.

Finding his love through education at Bournemouth School and the University of East Anglia, where he was part of the university choir.

How can I watch Celebrity MasterChef 2022?

You can catch Gareth Malone, the eight other Londoners and all of the other 11 contestants as they battle it out in the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen live on BBC One.

The first episode, as well as the ensuing 17 episodes, will be broadcasted at 8 pm.

If for whatever reason you can not catch an episode live, it will be available on catchup via the BBC iPlayer.
