Sidemen superstar Miniminter and YouTube sensation Manny warm up for Wembley with a special visit to E-ACT Crest Academy

Internet legends surprise students with unexpected training session and tickets to the hottest event in town.

Ahead of their highly anticipated Sidemen charity football match at Wembley Stadium, YouTube superstars Simon Minter—better known as Miniminter—and Manny made a special stop at E-ACT Crest Academy last week, bringing football fever to students in a once-in-a-lifetime visit.

The internet icons, both set to play in the charity match, took time out of their busy schedules to lead a high-energy training session at the school, organised by M7 Education. Students had the chance to showcase their skills in one-on-one challenges, while a break-time kickabout with the school’s football team drew huge crowds and deafening cheers. The entire school came to a standstill as students rushed to get a glimpse of their idols—and grab whatever they could for autographs.

The visit set the stage for an even bigger moment later in the week, as 80 lucky Crest Academy students travelled to Wembley Stadium to watch the Sidemen Charity Match, where Manny lined up for Sidemen FC alongside some of the biggest online stars. For many students, it was their first time inside the iconic venue, making the experience even more special.

The match was an absolute thriller, delivering 18 goals before heading into a tense penalty shootout. In a dramatic finish, the YouTube Allstars edged out Sidemen FC 5-4 on penalties, with IShowSpeed sealing the victory. It marked the Allstars' first win over Sidemen FC in the charity match since 2017.

The week’s events wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of Crest Academy staff, particularly Mr. Olaitan and Mr. Bankole, who played a key role in organising both the Sidemen’s visit and the Wembley trip. Their dedication ensured that students not only had an incredible experience but also took away valuable lessons about perseverance and following their dreams.

“This was so much more than just a football match or a celebrity visit,” said Headteacher Andrea Rosewell. “It was about giving our students experiences that inspire them, that show them what’s possible. Seeing their excitement, their ambition grow—this is what makes these moments so special.

“At Crest, we want all out students to believe they can achieve anything they dream of. Thanks to the Sidemen, that message really hit home last week – and of course, everyone enjoyed an incredible experience that will stay with them forever.”
