James May's favourite places to eat, drink and hang out in London
I’ve recently been re-watching all of the Top Gear and The Grand Tour specials and I’ve come to realise I think I’ve got a bit of a crush on James May.
He’s one of the UK’s best-loved TV presenters. He shot to fame for his presenting roles alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond on the aforementioned shows.

Despite being born in Bristol and raised in Yorkshire, in recent years the now gin maker has called London home.
Last year, James May told the then Evening Standard he’d like to stay in Hammersmith ‘until the end’.
Here are some of the things, places, and spaces that James enjoys most about life in London.

Having spent much of his life zipping around the world in a multitude of automobiles, it comes as no surprise that Mr May has a diverse palate and enjoys foods from across the globe.
One of the things he says he loves most about living in Hammersmith is its multicultural dining scene.
During the same interview with The Standard, he said: “We tend to be creatures of habit: we go to Indian Zing and Tosa, a Japanese café-restaurant, both on King Street.”
Fans of Top Gear will know James has always been partial to a drink, aside from enjoying the odd Chablis, he recently launched his own gin which is sold in his local pub, The Cross Keys.

Of course, any true Londoner knows riverside pubs have the best vibes and James enjoys a drink at The Dove, on Upper Mall, or The Blue Anchor, on Lower Mall. There’s also Riverside Studios, on Queen Caroline Street.
Despite being famous for his love of planes, trains, and automobiles, James prefers to navigate the city on two wheels. He told The Standard, he enjoys cycling around London, adding “the riverside from Fulham all the way down to Richmond, Twickenham, and beyond is a pretty good bike ride.”
Other places the TV star mentioned he likes to hang out in London include The Chiswick Cinema for a bit of culture, Chiswick House, and the Royal Opera House.
