RMHC UK is an independent charity that provides free "home away from home" accommodation and support to families of sick children in hospitals, enabling them to stay close to their child and maintain a sense of normalcy during difficult times.
Determined to make a difference, Shafali took on the challenge alongside members of McDonald’s Women’s Network, including its male allies, demonstrating the power of teamwork and shared purpose. The Women's Network is an inclusive, system wide network that empowers, develops and inspires women in McDonald’s and beyond, by providing tools, resources and events to inspire and support women.

This ambitious feat not only tested their endurance but also raised crucial funds to help keep families close when they need it most.

Local Franchisee Shafali Shown-Keen who owns and operates three McDonald’s restaurants in the West London area said:“ Taking on the Three Peaks Challenge was one of the toughest but most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved as a team—not just climbing mountains but raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. Knowing that our efforts will help keep families close during some of their most difficult moments made every step worth it.”
Shafali’s fundraising efforts have gone well beyond the peaks she climbed. In addition to completing the triumphant Three Peaks Challenge, she has continued to raise money for RMHC UK through fun, community-driven activities like face-painting at her three West London restaurants.
McDonald’s is a founding and forever partner of the charity, which has provided vital support to tens of thousands of families across the UK at each of its 14 locations since 1989.
