South London band Mars Analog announce debut album

South London-based band Mars Analog is set to release their highly anticipated debut album, Ephemera, on May 9.

The album showcases the band's unique sound, combining the melodic pop sensibilities of the 80s and 90s with more traditional rock influences. The album is available to stream from tomorrow and will be debuted live at the iconic New Cross Inn, London on June 10.

Mars Analog are a five-piece rock band from South London who write their original songs as a collective. The nine new songs on Ephemera promise a mix of anthemic moments and introspective turns, with nods to the grandeur of Queen and Pink Floyd, the introspection of Radiohead and Crowded House, and the energy of Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins—all filtered through Mars Analog’s unmistakable voice.

The album’s sound is driven by the dual guitar interplay of Andrew and Tim, who fluidly swap lead and rhythm duties to craft a rich, dynamic sonic landscape. Their textured work rides over the rock-solid rhythm section of Matt (drums) and Toni (bass), whose chemistry forms the heartbeat of Mars Analog’s sound—tight, human, and full of feel. At the centre, frontman Nick delivers soaring vocals, wrapped in lyrics that range from playful to provocative and delivered with clarity and soul. Harmonies from Tim and Matt add an extra layer of warmth and depth.

Lead singer, Nick Canning, said: “We’re excited to share the songs on Ephemera - we hope they speak for themselves and that people can feel the work that has gone into them. The band are not spring chickens, but neither are we old duffers! We all have a lot of experience under our collective belts, and we believe we are making music which people will like and that will cross generations.

"We are not in it for the money, we are here to enjoy playing music while we can on this earth and we just hope that people will enjoy listening. I know that sounds corny, but it is true!”

To celebrate the album's release, Mars Analog will perform live at The New Cross Inn, London on 10 June 2025. This intimate gig offers the opportunity to experience the new material firsthand and connect with the band in a live setting. Tickets are £8 in advance and can be purchased through the Pit Live website at https://pit.live/events/mars-analog.
