Smart hubs, zero-emission delivery, and modular storage: How Smartroom is rewiring London’s logistics

Smartroom has launched its third location in Bloomsbury, next to Holborn Police Station, transforming self storage into a smart urban logistics hub.

Originally founded to help Londoners empty their rented shops during the pandemic while abroad, Smartroom has grown into a city-wide network tackling London’s congestion problem. The new facility combines self storage and valet service to support students, residents, and brands with instant access and eco-friendly delivery.

What makes Smartroom different is its bold plan to reduce delivery van traffic in London. Instead of each shop on a high street receiving separate van deliveries, a single large vehicle drops consolidated goods at Smartroom’s hub — from there, items are delivered by bike couriers or collected directly.

Smartroom is building a decentralised logistics infrastructure that slashes emissions, supports local commerce, and helps create a cleaner, smarter city. We're also developing a patent-pending modular storage system designed for a future where unmanned delivery vans and autonomous logistics are powered entirely by our platform.
