London to Paris cycle challenge raises £36,000 for schools and Skylarks

Hide AdPedalling through picturesque countryside and crossing the Channel by ferry from Newhaven to France, the cyclists journeyed through historic towns of Northern France and concluded their fundraising adventure at the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Despite facing adverse weather conditions, including a severe storm during the cycle challenge, the riders persevered and committed to their cause. Reflecting on their achievements, they celebrated with food and drinks in Paris.
"What a phenomenal experience! I was so proud to be a part of our team of riders who took on this incredible challenge. We persevered through some appalling weather conditions but the dedication to supporting our school and Skylarks Charity was amazing," said James Beddall, a parent, from Barnes Primary School.

Hide AdEmily Evans, Headteacher, from Holy Trinity CofE School added:"As a school we have experienced first-hand the positive impact the Skylarks Charity has made in supporting our pupils and their well-being.
"The opportunity for our community to come together in this way to support our school and Skylarks was incredibly special and our wonderful riders were a fantastic example of our school's values of Love, Aspirational and Community in action!"
Siobhan Burn, Activities Leader at Skylarks Charity, shared her insights on taking part and the impact it will have: “The preparation for the London-Paris bike ride took many hours of training, each weekend over several months.

Hide Ad“I knew that each mile covered and each meter of elevation gained was worthwhile, as the sponsorship money raised for Skylarks enables us to support more families with an ever-expanding variety of activities, therapies and services.
“At the heart of Skylarks, is our desire and ability to support, not just the child with additional needs or disabilities, but their siblings, parents and extended family!
“I feel so proud to have been part of the cycle team and have made some great new friends!
